My Life

We are a Wigan based charity that supports people of all ages, with and without disabilities, to live a good life.

My Life logo

We aim to reduce social isolation and loneliness by bringing people together. With My Life, you can meet new friends, build relationships, learn new things, gain confidence, be more independent, have fun and take an active part in your local community.

Our services

We offer a range of services, tailored to your needs. These take place on our inspiring 84 acres of green land in Standish, with our own woodland, animal farm and cafe, our base at Leigh Sports Village, with state of the art facilities, and in the community.

These include:

My Life Opportunities

A range of person-centred activities for all ages and abilities, including people with special educational needs and disabilities, from creative arts to bushcraft and outdoor education, drama and music, horticulture, cooking, floristry, equine and animal care and more, choose what you'd like to do, either for a full or half day! Receive your own personalised plan of exciting opportunities and get regular progress reviews too.  Whatever you’d like to do, we’ll make sure you can do it and will adapt any activity to your needs! Support is available, or you can bring your own.

My Life Support

Our CQC registered service for people who fund their own care and people with personal budgets or direct payments. We take the hassle out of organising your care, from planning your support, to managing your money, recruiting and managing Personal Assistants.

Short breaks

Enjoy the perfect short break in one of our three accessible short-let chalets, situated in breath-taking scenery at our Standish site. Available for short breaks, respite, or as a domestic environment to learn skills to prepare for adulthood, we can provide support or you can bring your own.

My Life Works

Based in the heart of Standish at the fully refurbished and accessible Harlor House, My Life Works is an exciting work-based venture hosted by My Life which enables people with additional needs to learn new skills in work experience roles, and contribute to their community in a meaningful and productive way.

Events and workshops

We hold a wide range of events and activities for our local community, all fully inclusive. From our summer music festival to our Family Easter Picnics, Pony Club and 'Farmer for a Day' family experiences to our Christmas crafting workshops and more!

The Stable Door Cafe & Ice Cream Parlour

Our Stable Door Cafe & Ice Cream Parlour is open to the public and serves delicious home cooked food made with locally sourced ingredients, some even grown on our own farm. Profits are reinvested into the work of My Life and we offer our members real life work experience in the cafe too! Find out more here

Accessibility

Our sites are all accessible and a fully accessible hygiene suite is available at our Standish base.

Accessible bathrooms are available at our Leigh site.
