Flexible childcare in Shevington

Hello, my name is Andrea. I am a registered Childminder based in the Shevington area of Wigan. We are a family of four (which includes my 21 year old twins). 

I provide a warm, loving and safe environment for every unique child in my care. We have lots of fun and I help children to laugh, learn and develop by providing stimulating resources in my home and secure rear garden. I encourage children to form their own personalities and help them explore and develop.

I have recently adopted a part curiosity approach setting and it has proved to be a huge success with both children and parents. I provide all children with opportunities to socialize and learn about people, the environment and seek new challenges and experiences. We visit soft play areas, toddler groups, farms, parks, shops, the zoo, aquarium centres, woodland walks, fruit picking, the library and organised trips to the Fire Station etc. I live very close to woodland area, so we enjoy lots of Forest style learning and adventures. Diversity and equality are essential in providing the best quality care possible.

I am very aware of my responsibilities as a Childminder. I provide a home from home environment which I hope ensures every child feels safe and confident to develop their own personality during their early years. I fulfil my responsibilities in ensuring every child learns and develops whilst following all of the early years foundation guidance.   Every child and parent are treated as individuals, and I make every effort to work in partnership to provide the best care possible. All parents are kept up to date via Whatsapp with daily updates and lots of photographs. I take great pride in the two-way communication and great partnerships I have with all my parents.  

I have completed all required training courses and aim to improve my service by enrolling on further training when it becomes available. I am currently sourcing information on the Curiosity Approach accreditation.
