Summer Reading Challenge 2024

The Summer Reading Challenge is an annual event hosted by local libraries.

You can sign your children up for the challenge each summer. The purpose of the challenge is to:

  • Support children to develop a reading for pleasure habit, with all the life-long benefits that it brings.
  • To prevent a dip in literacy levels over the holidays, making it easier for children as they return to / start school in September.

There are two challenges:

  • A mini challenge for pre-school children.
  • The Summer Reading Challenge aimed at primary-aged children.

All resources and online events are free so keep your eyes out for further information and let the kids go wild with reading this summer.
