Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers

Norfolk Knitters has grown rapidly since the first few knitters put together a blanket in 2008. By March 2009 it had 40 people knitting for the group, in November 2010, there were 400 and now there are more than 1500 knitters and over 50 knitting and sewing groups. All work is donated to selected charities.  We also make sensory bands and blankets for people with dementia.

Its Knit and Natter groups are friendly places where members get together over a tea or coffee to share patterns, learn new skills, admire the knitting, find out about new projects or just have a chat. There are a number of groups in the region:

In addition to the Knit and Natter groups, many of its members knit on their own at home and then take their work to one of the twenty collection points. For the housebound with no one who can take their knitting for them, the Knitters are usually able to arrange for it to be collected.
