The Workshop - Children's Theatre
All theatre classes are held on Fridays.
Reception-Year 2: 4pm-5pm
Putting performance skills, stage presence and theatre-making in the spotlight. Explore script and character work through drama games, exercises and improvisation. Sessions usually focus on a particular theme, skill or piece of script with feedback at the end. Run by professional theatre-makers with industry experience in a fun and vibrant environment that allows youngsters to find their voice, to express themselves, build confidence, make new friends and discover a passion for theatre.
Year 3-6: 5pm-6pm
Creating detailed characters and stories using status, voice work, physicality and script work, this is a fun way to boost your confidence, stage presence, performance skills and social skills. It’s a great opportunity to learn from experienced professional theatre-makers in a working performing arts environment.
Year 7-9: 6pm-7pm
A great way for your youngster to develop their stage presence and theatre-making skills as well as teaching valuable life skills such as working with others, speaking in a public setting and boosting confidence. Taught by professional artists with industry experience, participants will explore using scripts and developing character. Areas covered include status, voice work, physicality and an introduction to other practitioners. Sessions focus on a particular theme, skill or piece of script . Drama games and exercises make for a fun way to make new friends and learn.
Year 10-11: 7pm-8pm
A great way for your youngster to develop their stage presence and theatre-making skills as well as teaching valuable life skills such as working with others, speaking in a public setting and boosting confidence. Taught by professional artists with industry experience, participants will explore using scripts and developing character.
