Seafarers Hospital Society
The Seafarers Hospital Society is a charity for former or working merchant seafarers or fisherman, and their close dependants. The Society considers requests for:
- Disability aids or equipment, such as stair lifts, electrically powered vehicles (EPVs) including wheelchairs, riser/recliner chairs and adapted bathrooms
- Household items, such as cookers, fridges, washing machines and beds
- Help with unpaid bills such as gas, electricity, water, Council Tax and rent
- Essential household maintenance such as repairs, decorating and carpets
- Respite breaks or convalescence
- Clothing
- Help with funeral expenses
