Home Grown Little Acorn Childcare

We are a husband and wife team and we are Ofsted Registered Childminders based in SW18, on Sutherland Grove, London. Our company is called Home Grown Little Acorn Childcare. We want to give the children in our care the same care they would receive at home and from a little acorn grows a mighty oak! We believe that the skills, manners, confidence and integrity with which we mind these children they can become mighty adults. We have a spacious setting and offer a warm and loving environment for your child to reach their full potential and build their confidence before they have to face the real world. 

My wife and I have two lovely children, aged 14 years and 16 years old, who are both in school. After having our son, my wife decided to register as a Childminder as she saw so many of my friends facing the challenge of finding someone who will not only care for their children but love them and care for them with enthusiasm and excitement. This was the best thing she could ever have done as she absolutely love minding! In April 2017 I joined her as I saw how rewarding it was to help raise the children and the benefit that it was to the parents, knowing their children were happy and thriving.

We love the challenges each child brings and finding new and exciting ways of helping them to learn and develop into well balanced, confident and caring children. Parents often tell us that it's made it so much easier for them to return to work as they can see how happy their child is with us. What a privilege it is!

We do plenty of fun activities, including: painting and crafts, baking, dancing and singing, creative play, water, sand, play dough and other messy play and trips to the park. 

We also attend great local playgroups all year and visit the local animal farm on occasion. 

We have a garden which the kids just love with some play equipment (trampoline, playhouse, climbing frame and slide), ride on toys, balls and racquets etc. Weather permitting the kids spend a lot of their time in the garden if we are home.

At Home Grown Little Acorn we believe children need to be allowed to get dirty and have fun exploring their surroundings in a safe environment and we encourage the children to experience the different objects and textures around them. 

My wife and I are both fully DBS checked and we are insured. We are on the Wandsworth Childcare register and we both have full Paediatric First aid certificates, Food Hygiene certificates, Level 3 Diploma in Child Development and many more courses completed. We have a full, clean driving licence and use the car for transport to some playgroups or farms.
