TK is an Ipswich based charity whose mission is to reach out with kindness, care, compassion and practical support to vulnerable women. We have two operational activities:
- The Hope Centre, set in 2-acres of beautiful Suffolk countryside, offers a confidential, safe and supportive environment to help resident women recover from misfortune and vulnerability. TK provide supported housing at the Hope Centre where women can stay until they are ready to move on and live independent. Whilst living at the Hope Centre women are expected to be part of the caring community of up to 7 women with diverse backgrounds. Everyone has the privacy of their own en-suite bedroom and the living rooms are for communal living. Every resident is required to participate in daily chores and follow the house rules which are there for the protection of all residents. For example, no alcohol is allowed on site for the benefit of those recovering from addictions. Residents can participate in activities at the Hope Centre or travel into Ipswich during the day for work, education, therapeutic activities or other appointments. Visitors are allowed during the day time but never over-night. A specialist team will support residents to access active, healthy, holistic and happy life opportunities.
- Alongside this, we have established three recovery support groups in Ipswich called “Women Together”. These groups are run specifically for women who have or are affected by any addiction. They are self-help drop-in support groups, therefore we don't offer clinical or professional advice but seek to support and refer on to other agencies as appropriate. They are held on Monday 10.30am - 11.30am at Whitton Baptist Church, Monday 7.45pm - 9pm at Shepherd Drive Baptist Church and Thursday 1.15pm - 2.30pm at Ipswich Community Church, Clarkson Street.
