AA (Automobile Association) Disability Helpline


The AA Disability Helpline provides information on a range of disability-related subjects, which is free to AA members.

AA members with a disability are asked to provide details of their individual needs so that services can be tailored to particular circumstances. Members do not have to be Blue Badge holders to register.

Contact the Disability Helpline to register your requirements which are then noted on the membership record (confidentiality is assured).

The organisation also produces the AA Disabled Travellers Guide - a comprehensive guide for people with a disability to driving and travelling in the UK and abroad, containing information on motoring, insurance, driving tests, vehicle adaptations and airports.The guide is free to members and can be downloaded from their website by following the related link, or can be obtained by calling:

If you are hard of hearing or speech-impaired, you can contact the AA by textphone by prefixing any of their published numbers with 18001. This will put you through to a Next Generation Text (NGT) operator who will help with your call.

The AA welcomes calls from Typetalk, and is able to accept Textphone calls.  Textphone: 0800 328 2810 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 5pm).

There is also an SMS text messaging service for deaf and hard of hearing members who can notify the AA of a breakdown via mobile phone.Tel: 07860 027 999.
