Y Dolydd Llanfyllin Workhouse
Description:
Llanfyllin Workhouse is a Grade II* listed Victorian workhouse set in the Cain Valley.
The historic building, known locally as Y Dolydd, houses:
- the Workhouse History Centre, open daily free of charge;
- workshops and studios, which are available to hire;
- a 24-bed bunkhouse;
- a gallery, venue and cafe-bar; along with
- a car park, garden, four courtyards and six acres of pasture land.
Y Dolydd also offers facilities for educational visits, functions, courses, conferences or weddings.
The Workhouse is owned by the Llanfyllin Dolydd Building Preservation Trust. This charitable trust is a community group which welcomes members with an interest in heritage, the arts or the environment.
