Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT)

Description:

STAT’s first aim is to ensure the highest standards of Alexander Technique teacher training and professional practice.

All STAT registered teachers have completed an approved three-year training course, hold professional indemnity insurance and are bound by the Society’s Code of Professional Conduct and Competence.

Contact details for teaching members can be found on the STAT website plus a range of other information and resources relating to the Alexander Technique.

STAT training courses are regulated through a system of external moderation. There are currently 18 teacher training courses in the UK and Ireland and seven STAT regulated courses in other countries.

STAT’s further aims are to promote public awareness and understanding of the Alexander Technique, and to encourage research.  The Society publishes a regular newsletter (STATNews) and The Alexander Journal.
