Energize: Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin

Energize Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, the local County Sports Partnership is part of a national network of 46 County Sports Partnerships who are primarily funded by Sport England.

Through collaboration with local partners they aim to ensure that there are a diverse range of quality, affordable, accessible and enjoyable activities available across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, to inspire local communities to lead healthy and active lives.

At Energize they believe that opening up people’s horizons to the joy of sporting activity enables each and every person to find something that makes their heart beat faster.

Energize is not a provider of sports or physical activities;  however, they use their contacts, knowledge and the expertise of the members of their team to help the organisations who do provide opportunities for local people to participate in sport or physical activity.

They can help if you are:

  • currently providing or interested in starting up a club or activity and want some advice (eg funding, linking with local groups and venues or achieving Clubmark accreditation),
  • a coach who would like support to gain new qualifications or access new coaching opportunities,
  • volunteering or would like to start, they can help you to find new opportunities,
  • a school that would like to access the development opportunities they offer to teaching staff; get involved in the Shropshire Homes School Sport Festival as part of Sainsbury’s School Games; or book a visit from an Olympic Champion,
  • a primary school and looking for advice on how to use the School Sport Premium funding or looking for local sports providers,
  • a local group, club or association needing support to plan a new venture (eg a facility) which aims to provide more or improved sport and physical activity opportunities for local people,
  • looking for details of a local club or activity.

Energize also offers inclusive support for those with disabilities and the elderly, working with programmes that encourage active ageing, and they use activity to strengthen families and stabilise young lives.

For more information on any of the above, please follow the link to visit their website, or use the contact details provided.
