British Society for Heart Failure (BSH)
Description:
Heart failure is a debilitating syndrome with a mortality rate similar to that of some cancers. It is often misdiagnosed and under-diagnosed, and many heart failure patients, who are often elderly, also suffer from other complicating co-morbidities.
The BSH was founded in 1998 in response to the issues that the management of heart failure presents, and currently has a membership of over 1,000 made up of cardiologists, nurses, Gps, geriatricians, surgeons, scientists, pharmacists, and physiotherapists.
There is a patients section on their website which includes a range of books and information pamphlets around the subject of heart failure.
