Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In accordance with the latest government announcement regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, users should be aware of the instruction to stay at home, and to only leave the house for food, health reasons or essential work. You should also stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people.

High Sheriff of Shropshire

Description:

The High Sheriff of Shropshire holds an Office of great antiquity.  Today, the High Sheriff has ceremonial functions, especially to do with the justice system, and is responsible (through the Under Sheriff) for the execution of High Court writs.

He or she undertakes a variety of voluntary work for the community, particularly connected with crime reduction.

The High Sheriff changes each April and duties of the Office cover the historic county of Shropshire, including the Borough of Telford and Wrekin.
