Drayton Civic Society
Description:
Drayton Civic Society is a membership organisation which welcomes anyone interested in the past, present, and future of Market Drayton and the surrounding area.
The Society was set up in 1975 to make a practical and positive contribution to the heritage and development of Market Drayton, and new members are always most welcome.
Originally, the Society’s prime aim was to maintain the town’s character, working to preserve and protect what is best in the built environment, and to reveal and conserve the town’s history. Today, the primary way the Society achieves this is by running and maintaining the Town’s Museum, which is funded through Civic Society membership fees and charitable donations, and is run entirely by volunteers. By joining the Society you can contribute to the maintenance and development of the Town's Museum and support the care of its heritage.
Annual Membership Fees are structured and current annual fees are:
- Single membership - £6 per year,
- Family membership - £10 per year, and
- Schools and corporate groups - £15 per year.
If you would like to get involved in any of the Museum projects, or to volunteer as a Museum Steward, you would be very welcome. Please follow the related link for further details.
