As a martial art, the central aim of karate is to teach self-defence. Taught in the traditional way, karate also teaches so much more: conflict avoidance, dealing with bullying, improving self-confidence, respectful behaviour, increasing fitness, strength and health.It is a very rewarding way to have fun.
The MKD club are a traditional Karate Club, learning physical self-defence techniques as well as nurturing good character and respectful behaviour.
The Clubs Chief Instructor is Chris Mileham Sensei, 8th Dan.
The welcomes beginners aswell as experienced practitioners a likes.
They have classes for children 5+, teens and adults, with classes tailored to all ages, abilities and levels. Students are taught in age-appropriate groups:
- Karate Kids - aged 5-7 years
- Cadets - Aged 8 - 11 years
- Juniors - aged 12- 15 years
- Seniors - aged 16+

Classes are held in the evening on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Classes are held in the morning on Saturdays.
