Description:

British Gas Energy Trust (incorporating the Scottish Gas Energy Trust) is an independent Charitable Trust set up to help fight poverty by offering help to those who are unable to pay essential domestic bills.

Grants are available to individuals and families in need, hardship or other distress, particularly those unable to meet or pay charges for their domestic supply of gas or electricity.

The Trust can help those in need:

  • to clear domestic gas and electricity debts owed to British Gas and other suppliers
  • to purchase essential energy efficient white goods and cookers
  • with Bankruptcy and Debt Relief Order fees
  • to repair / replace a boiler
  • to help with funeral arrears

The British Gas Energy Trust provides grants to organisations to provide money and debt prevention advice and education, with a particular emphasis on fuel poverty.
