Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In accordance with the latest government announcement regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, users should be aware of the instruction to stay at home, and to only leave the house for food, health reasons or essential work. You should also stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people.

In light of this, the groups, clubs and societies listed within the Shropshire Community Directory will be unable to meet until further notice, and there may be a reduced service for other local and national organisations.

For further information, please contact the individual groups or organisations listed.

Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) logo

CEOP (formerly Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre)

Description:

CEOP (formerly the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) works across the UK. The organisation uses international links to tackle child sex abuse wherever and whenever it happens. CEOP is affiliated to the National Crime Agency (NCA).

They aim to provide internet safety advice for parents and carers and to provide a virtual police station for reporting abuse on the internet.

The CEOP Centre has a dedicated site, www.thinkuknow.co.uk for children and young people to help them stay safe online.

Families can visit www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents to access advice and support on how to keep children safe from sexual abuse, both online and off. Articles provide guidance on topics as diverse as: challenging harmful sexual attitudes and promoting positive behaviours; helping a child with autism negotiate life online; supporting a child who has been sexually abused; and dealing with a range of online issues such as sending nude selfies and viewing pornography. Users will find films, downloadable guides and useful links to support organisations.

Families can also use the website to access the CEOP Safety Centre www.ceop.police.uk/safety-centre where they can report abuse and exploitation direct to CEOP.

For more information, please follow the link to visit their website.
