Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In accordance with the latest government announcement regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, users should be aware of the instruction to stay at home, and to only leave the house for food, health reasons or essential work. You should also stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people.

In light of this, the groups, clubs and societies listed within the Shropshire Community Directory will be unable to meet until further notice, and there may be a reduced service for other local and national organisations.

For further information, please contact the individual groups or organisations listed.

Townsend Elaine

I am a registered childminder with over twenty years experience, I work with 2 part time assistants on our smallholding in a rural village. We have converted an old milking parlour to provide a cosy setting for the children we care for, the barn is warm and well insulated, having large glass windows and doors providing lots of daylight, it is surrounded by a field, equipped with a climbing frame, mud kitchen, balance bikes and ramps, a tunnel under a hill, an outside story bench, giant sandpit with diggers and a football pitch. We have a separate vegetable patch with raised beds. We provide a home cooked lunch for the children attending, as well as breakfast and tea after school, these are included in the price. Our daily routine includes caring for our pigs, ducks, chickens, emu, guinea pigs, rabbits, sheep, horses, donkeys, and horses. We like the children to have fun, freedom and friends! We were very proud to receive an outstanding judgement in our Ofsted inspection in February 2015. Local Offer: We observe assess and plan following each individual child's interests and abilities using the Early Years Foundation Stage as guidance. Assessments are carried out each term to monitor progress and share with parents and a two-year-old development check is carried out for parent’s to contribute to and take to their child's health visit appointment. If children stay with us until they start school, we will carry out a school transition assessment. When a child starts they will receive an "All about me" form which focuses on their strengths, areas of development, home life interests and language which helps identify the types of activities and support to be provided. We use home diaries for sharing information and an introduction to the EYFS. I have worked as a childminder for 18 years and have always maintained an inclusive service - we have cared for children with autism, cerebral palsy and children with speech and language delay. We have strong support networks using local s.e.n.d co-ordinators and i belong to the Professional Association of Childcare and Early Years (Pacey) who also offer an excellent support service and online training. Our environment at Westview is designed to consider children using wheelchair's or rollators - with slopes, wide doorways and a disabled toilet. For a full copy of the local offer please contact the provider.
