SCARD (Support and Care After Road Death and Injury) is a national independent charity giving emotional practical help to hundreds of people bereaved or injured in road accidents in the UK each year.
The aims of SCARD are to:
- help relieve distress for people who have been bereaved, injured or affected by road death or injury
- provide emotional and practical support
- send out independent literature on the judicial system
- provide free initial legal help and advice
- help provide access to counselling to the bereaved, the injured, the traumatised, including witnesses to accidents
- raise awareness of road danger
