A member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians Register of Professional Private Music Teachers will:

• be a professionally qualified, experienced music teacher
• have a supporting reference from a pupil (if 18 or over) or the parent/guardian of a pupil
• follow the ISM Members Code of Conduct
• follow the ISM Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy
• signed child protection declarations
• possession of a DBS enhanced disclosure applied for through the ISM specifically for the role of Private Music Teacher.
