Bridgnorth Community Transport Group
Description:
Bridgnorth Community Transport Group BCTG provides transport in the Bridgnorth area and it's surrounding villages eg Claverley, Alveley, and as far away as Cleobury Mortimer.
The aim of BCTG is to encourage independence for members who are registered and are living in a rural area. Membership, (£8 per year), may be obtained by ringing the office number – see below. It is for people who may not be able to use public transport or do not have access to public transport.
BCTG now have two 15 seater buses and one 13 seater bus and also do regular runs from Hampton Loade 9.30am every Wednesday, Cleobury North, Burwarton and Ditton Priors every Thursday 9am from Bright’s Corner and their regular runs from Claverley into Bridgnorth every Tuesday at 9.30am.
Also Cleobury Mortimer leaving The Talbot Hotel at 9am calling at Barbrook, and Chorley Caravan Park every Saturday into Bridgnorth and returning at 11.45am from outside Barclays Bank.
BCTG makes its mini buses available for hire, with a driver, to registered groups (membership £20 per year) such as the Townswomens Guild, U3A, Claverley Pick Me Up Service, and others. The groups travel far and near to many interesting destinations.
BCTG is also the booking centre for The Community Car scheme. The scheme is for people who can't walk to a bus stop or may need assistance to travel or it could be someone living in a rural area where there are no buses. Perhaps you need to go to the doctor or hospital; maybe shopping or visit a relative in hospital this is exactly what the scheme is for.
BCTG is always looking for more Volunteer Drivers to be trained to do this worthwhile job. They will train men and women to MiDAS standard which is nationally recognised for driving a minibus. If you have a few hours to spare, why not give a little back to society and contact Kay or Mary at the address shown.
