Cancer can be emotionally, physically and financially draining. In Sheffield there are a range of services that try to help and might make some of the problems you and your family may be facing, easier.

Weston Park Cancer Information and Support Centre is staffed by nurses and therapy radiographers experienced in cancer care, that you can call on the number above or drop in on Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm to speak about how cancer has affected you, and what might be able to help.

We offer:

  • Welfare advice
  • Group courses for patients, carers and for those that are bereaved
  • One-to-one mindfulness sessions
  • Craft afternoons and Coffee mornings
  • Legal advice
  • Auricular Acupuncture for Prostate or Breast cancer patients suffering from hot flushes as a result of their treatment
  • ‘Look Good Feel Better’ Pampering workshops for women after a cancer diagnosis

Support Groups and Services

Cavendish Cancer Care support local people who are living with cancer. Giving them and their families the chance to talk in confidence and offer complementary therapies to support their recovery.

Wigs

You are entitled to a prescription for a wig if it is your treatment that has caused the hair loss. You can get this from your hospital consultant. This can then be used at certain wig shops that accept NHS prescriptions but still usually at a cost.
