Barnardo's Rochdale Services works in partnership with Rochdale Borough Council to provide a range of borough-wide services for children and young people.

Act to shine drama group

The drama group is for 8 - 19 year olds with individual needs who would like to join a weekly drama group. You will have the chance to make new friends, practice your drama skills and show these in the annual production.

Junior Art Attack

Junior Art Attack is for 4 – 8 year olds with individual needs who enjoy all things arty. Activities will include, art, music and dance. This is a chance for you to show off your creativity. Come to Junior Art Attack and develop your talent and get to know others who have the same interests as you!

Art Attack is for 8 - 19 year olds with individual needs who enjoy all things arty, including art, music and dance and want to show off their creativity.

Nature Ninja's outdoor activity group

Nature Ninja's is for 8 - 19 year olds with individual needs who love being outside whatever the weather, love exploring and doing new things like den building, would love to work towards a John Muir Environmental Award and want to learn about the great outdoors.

Holiday club short breaks

Are you looking for something fun to do in the holidays? The Holiday Club is a group for 8 - 19 year olds with individual needs who would like to make new friends and have fun. There will be lots of different creative and fun activities to join in with. The group runs on a Thursday and Friday from 10am - 3pm

Youth Zone

Youth Zone is a fun place for 10—19 year olds with individual needs and their siblings to make new friends and chill out. Your group will have it’s own budget and you will plan how to use this for activities and outings. You will have the chance to learn new skills that will help as you become a young adult. Not only that, there are opportunities for some qualifications such as First Aid!

Greater Manchester key worker service

Greater Manchester Key Working Service for children and young people 0-25years with a Learning Disability and/or Autism who are at risk of admission to a mental health ward or in need of a 52 week residential school/college or where families and professionals believe things are escalating and without support could be an outcome.

The Keyworking Function has been developed as a response to the NHS England & NHS Improvement Long Term Plan (LTP) commitment that by 2023/24, children and young people with a learning disability, autism or both, with the most complex needs will have a designated Keyworker: implementing the recommendations made by Dame Christine Lenehan.

The vision is: Children and young people with a learning disability, autism or both with the most complex needs will have a designated Keyworker.
Objectives:

  • Improve children and young people’s lived experience so they feel safe and happy, listened to, informed and involved in their plans, care and support
  • Improve parent/carers & families' lived experience so they have reduced stress and uncertainty, are more stable feel listened to, informed and involved
  • Improving access - timely access to the right personalised support, assessment, care and support are integrated across education, health, social care and voluntary, community services
  • Continuity of care and support
  • Well planned and well managed transitions
  • Improving quality of care, reasonably adjusted support, reducing inequalities, implementation of Care and Education Treatment Review (CETR) recommendations
  • Outcomes agreed with young person and family
