About

Lighthouse Project

Lighthouse centres provide a friendly, accepting, encouraging, and comfortable environment where people feel safe to meet, make friends, participate, gain confidence and develop feelings of self worth.

People can access services they require to learn new skills, to grow and to develop emotionally, socially and educationally, and to become more independent. We also have facilities for disabled access.

Some of the facilities we have include:

  • Cafe and lounge area
  • Public internet access
  • Training IT suite
  • Meeting and training rooms for hire

  • Work club
  • Activity rooms
  • Training kitchen
Daddy Cool - Parenting Group

This is a group to help and support dads and male carers with parenting skills. It will be led by dads and whilst there will be a structure to the sessions we will also be open to explore suggestions, topics and needs from those dads who attend.

We plan to explore topics such as leaving a legacy, tuning in, making memories, inspiring respect, and nurturing values and beliefs. The group will also be a feed into our Who Let the Dads Out playgroup which runs every 4 weeks on a Saturday.

The group is open to all and will be suitable for both dads who live with their children and those who are non-resident.

Our aim is to support dads and to inspire them in this challenging role.

Work Club – Motivational and Employability Courses

We run a variety of activites designed to help people with the skills they need for job hunting in the modern world. We help with CV writing, interview techniques, online job searching, I.T and basic computer courses, mock interviews, and opportunities to volunteer.

Our activities and courses are about encouraging you and supporting you to achieve, moving you closer to the workplace and ideally getting you back into gainful and meaningful employment.
