Bring Me Sunshine

About

Our online zoom performances and shows are fun and offer a great sensory experience and we strive to include everyone. We use musical instruments, fancy dress and reminiscence objects to encourage interaction and memory links. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Bring Me Sunshine CIC was originally set up to provide music therapy and entertainment for people living with dementia in care homes. We have grown to be so much more than a service. We now connect with communities across Rochdale, Tameside and Oldham, providing much needed social interaction to relive the affects of the recent Covid 19 pandemic. We are constantly changing and adapting the way in which we deliver our music therapy sessions to adhere to all current government guidelines to keep everyone safe.

How it works

Music truly is a magical gift. It is neurologically special in the way it stimulates many parts of the brain at once. Meaning even if parts of the brain are damaged, music can still reach others, reducing anxiety, depression and supporting cognition, speech and memory.

With each performance we see amazing transformations. Loved ones who find social interactions difficult due to these conditions, come alive and reminisce of happy times through the power of music. The joy this creates between families is wonderful.
