Bridge College

About

Bridge College is a non-residential specialist FE college. We meet the needs of students up to the age of 25 years with learning difficulties and disabilities, complex needs, communication disorders and autism.

With our new state of the art campus, we have access to a wide range of leisure and community facilities in Manchester as well as parks and open spaces. This means our students can learn in lots of different settings and develop the skills needed for life as an active and valued young adult in your community. Students can experience our hydrotherapy pool, our sensory rooms and our rebound room within a wide programme of activities.

The effective multi-disciplinary assessment informs the young person’s learning programme and identifies the appropriate learning environment and support strategies. This actively enables the young person to engage in a range of challenging and fun sessions. Schools, parents/carers and other agencies are invited to path planning meetings to support transition and consistency from college to home environments.

Our college is part of the Together Trust, a charity that has reached its 150 year anniversary of working with young people with learning disability and autism. Phone now on 0161 487 4293 to arrange a visit.

What we do

At Bridge College, our students are at the centre of everything we do. And every student is unique – from their interests, to their aspirations, to their individual needs.

That’s why we create tailor-made learning and support plans shaped around the individual. Together we help every young person grow into the adult they want to be.

  • Our students come first and are at the centre of everything we do
  • We constantly strive to improve and innovate
  • We are all responsible for ensuring the success of Bridge College and its students
Our Approach

We’re a specialist college with a very broad reach. In fact, we pride ourselves on inclusivity. If we can meet a student’s needs, we’re here to do everything we can to help that individual succeed in life. Whatever success means for them.

Student shaped support

From day one, every student has a multiskilled team around them, from tutors and therapists to nurses, support staff and assistive tech. We can even provide specialist staff training to tailor our expertise right down to the individual.

Celebrating success

Success comes in lots of different shapes, so let’s celebrate it. Every day we shine a light on our students’ achievements, helping them grow their skills and self confidence however they learn or communicate. We want to make sure every student leaves feeling happy and ready for adulthood.

A flexible, innovative approach

We welcome almost 100 students each year, and every single student is unique. So we’ve learned a thing or two about flexibility. We take regular opportunities to reflect, innovate and make changes where we need to. Whether that means changing a strategy or switching up staff members. It’s all about creating the best experience and the right opportunities for our learners
