Refuge (For Women and Children Against Domestic Violence)

About

We believe no-one should have to live in fear of violence and abuse. Refuge supports people helping them rebuild their lives and overcome many different forms of violence and abuse, for example, domestic violence, sexual violence, so-called ‘honour’-based violence, human trafficking and modern slavery, and female genital mutilation.

What we do

We provide specialist support to women, children and some men escaping domestic violence and other forms of violence. Our specialist services include:

  • Refuges
  • Independent advocacy
  • Community outreach projects
  • Culturally specific services
  • 24 hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline.
