NESTAC is a charitable community organisation aimed at supporting refugees, asylum seekers and other immigrants from the new emerging communities, with a focus on those from African origin living in the North West of England.

What we do

We offer a range of services and activities to meet the needs of our community and service users through the following:

  • Informal education through cross-cultural awareness trainings/workshops
  • Drop-in sessions for support, advice and guidance
  • Research projects to inform and share learning on the effects of cultural beliefs on migrant families’ lives
  • Health and wellbeing programme
  • Violence against women and girls programme
  • Food bank
  • Africa programme
  • CYPO programme

NESTAC is a champion in addressing cultural and traditional issues affecting the health and wellbeing of African immigrant families, with a special focus on violence against women and girls, actively campaigning against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
