Heywood Middleton and Rochdale Health Visiting Service
Every family in Heywood Middleton and Rochdale with a child aged 0 to 5 years has a named health visitor.
Health visitors are qualified nurses or midwives who have completed specialist qualifications in community public health. Their additional training enables them to assess the health needs of individuals, families and the wider community to promote good health and prevent illness.
We offer support and encouragement to you and your family from pregnancy and birth, through the early years, to primary school. We can give advice on lots of things including infant feeding, healthy weight and nutrition, child development, accident prevention, oral health and emotional health and wellbeing.
We will offer you a core set of visits, but if you need extra support we can tailor the the service around your needs. We deliver care in your home, health centres, children’s centres and other community-based locations and work closely with a wide range of other professionals.
We are based in small teams at locations across the borough. Please contact the team based nearest to where you live (by postcode).
