Criminal Justice Mental Health Service
About
The criminal justice mental health team covers the boroughs of Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside and Stockport.
What we do
We offer advice, assessments, risk assessment, and provide some short term interventions for clients with mental health problems, who are on the periphery of offending behaviour or have committed an offence.
This could include access to appropriate services and diversion away from the criminal justice services for offenders in need of treatment rather than punishment.
We work collaboratively with mental health services, social care, the police, the courts, prisons, probation services and others to try to obtain the best and fairest pathway for the offender, while ensuring that public protection remains a priority.
