Kensington Foundation

The Kensington Foundation is a Blackpool-based charity, we fund and manage the following projects:

The Daisy Chain Project

This is a respite holiday programme which offers self-contained and peaceful accommodation for special needs children and their families.

There are ten apartments in total and the holidays run from Monday to Sunday. A non refundable application fee is requested with the application form.

Kensington Court which accommodates the Daisy Chain Project, is a purpose-built block of ten two bedroomed apartments, centrally heated with its own car park, situated in the south of Blackpool. All have been decorated to a very high standard.

Canal Boat Project

The Margaret Kane is a purpose built wide beam Canal Boat. It is based on the Lancaster canal and moored at Barton Grange Marina.

The boat has full wheelchair access, with ramps onto the stern and a wheelchair lift into the body of the boat. A skipper and crew assist the families while the boat is in motion during the day and leave the boat secured for the night

The boat is also used for short residential breaks, for families who have a child with additional needs, the boat can sleep a maximum  of seven people.
