Carolyn Hirst

I am an Ofsted accredited childminder with 25 years experience and maintain Level 5 in the High 5 Award, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and City & Guilds in Tutor Training.  I received the grade ‘Outstanding’ for my last three Ofsted inspections. I currently work closely with the Local Authority and schools to provide care to children with special educational needs and/or a disability (SEND). I provide the 2 year old pilot and 3-4 year old flexible entitlement. I accept childcare vouchers/college bursaries and Tax credit applicants.

I have 2 assistants who work alongside me, full-time. My assistants both have level 2 in childcare and working towards Level 3 with Oldham College. I network with lots of childminders and provide excellent back up emergency and holiday cover. At the entrance to my home I have displayed certificates for Ofsted Registration, Insurance certificate, Safeguarding policies and training that both myself and my assistants have completed. I hold the Forest School Childcare Association Certificate. I have past references and brilliant parent feedback and have in the past received the Mayors Award for my work with The Social Services Sponsored Day Care Scheme. I have just achieved a Level 2 in Management Leadership to help with skills and knowledge of managing assistants. I attend lots of childminding and parent groups alongside doing alot of home based themed work for the 7 areas of learning, I also run a Childminding Group. I do lots of outdoor forest school and I have an allotment which the children participate in growing vegetables and having story times.
