About
AJ's Academy is an exceptionally different, independent service for adults with learning difficulties. We are a professionally trained and competent service providing individuals with an excellent array of activities and opportunities.
Our service is stimulating, challenging and exciting, but most of all fun.
Come and visit our centre
If you would like to attend AJ's day centre we accept both private and funded members. Whatever route into our service, we would always suggest you attend a free taster day with us to give you the opportunity to explore our facilities and meet our team and members.
If you, a parent or carer wish to attend a free taster day and/or need advice on funding available contact our office.
Activities run each day
These are the following daily activities:
- Art and craft sessions
- Game consoles
- Sensory room
- Board games
- Sewing sessions
- Free time (For example computers/reading)
Seasonal activities
These are the seasonal activities we run:
- Canal boat trips - Winter and Summer
- Pantomine theater company - Winter and Summer
- Day trips (Blackpool, Scarborough)

- Description
The directors Andy and Jill have over 20 years' experience in the field of adults with learning difficulties and are highly trained with many qualifications such as person centred therapeutic counselling, advanced practice colour therapist for the health and wellbeing of individuals, teacher in college education, NVQ levels 2 and 3, moving and handling, first aid and food hygiene. All certificates are available upon request.
