NHS Immunisations and Screenings during Covid-19

Preventing the spread of Covid-19 is a priority but the NHS is asking you to attend your routine vaccination and screening appointments.

As long as you, or your children, do not have symptoms of Covid-19 and are not self-isolating because someone else in the household is displaying symptoms, all scheduled vaccinations and screening appointments will go ahead. Some appointments have been rescheduled, please attend when you receive your new appointment.

Vaccinations are vital for preventing outbreaks of diseases and reducing pressure on the health service. Screening programmes during pregnancy and after your baby is born enable the early detection of some medical conditions and mean the right treatment and care can be provided.

If you have already received a positive screening test you will be prioritised based on your individual risk.  Breast cancer screening for women at high risk is continuing. If you think you have the symptoms of cancer, contact your GP.

GPs and health professionals carrying out screening will be taking every possible precaution to ensure your safety. If you have any concerns, please contact your GP or health professional for advice.

The NHS has produced a helpful factsheet which answers some of the questions you may have.
