The Family Information Service provides information on the SEND Local Offer on behalf of Brighter Futures for Children, which is contracted to deliver the SEND/Local Offer service. Brighter Futures for Children ~ Early Help
The Reading Portage Service is a Home Teaching Programme for Reading families who have pre-school children with additional support needs.
Portage families are visited in their own home by a trained Portage Home Visitor who offers support, encouragement and advice. Together with parents the Portage visitor will design and record stimulating activities to help the child achieve their individual goals.
Requests for our involvement may come directly from parents and carers or professionals (with parental consent) through the Children's Single Point of Access. Please complete a referral form. Brighter Futures for Children (BFfC) ~ Children's Single Point of Access (CSPoA)
Age Range: 6+ months- entry into a maintained nursery or school
Portage is suitable if:
The child is of Pre-school age and at least two terms before entering school.
The child has a significant delay in at least one area of their development.
