Parenting Special Children - Autism Service

The Autism Service offers a series of workshops and courses for parent/carers who have children or young people who are pre- and post- assessment for Autism

  • For Families living in Berkshire, or whose child attends a Berkshire School
  • Families awaiting an assessment for Autism
  • Families who have recently received a diagnosis, and want to learn more about parenting a child with Autism
  • Parents in need of ongoing support, and wanting to talk with other parents in a similar situation

Pre- and Post-Assessment Workshops - Autism

A series of three linked pre- and post-assessment workshops for parent/carers of children and young people who are waiting for an assessment for Autism, or who have recently been diagnosed with Autism.

Sensory Processing Workshop

A single workshop for parent/carers of children and young people who may have difficulties with Sensory Processing, whether they have received a diagnosis or not. This is a common factor for children and young people with Autism or ADHD.

Autistic Girls and Young Women Monthly Workshop and Support Group

For all Berkshire families who have autistic girls or young women of any age who are pre- or post-assessment for Autism.

Introduction to Pathological Demand Avoidance 

A single workshop for parent/carers of children and young people who present with the Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profile of autism, whether they have received a diagnosis or not.

Dual Diagnosis (Autism & ADHD) Workshop

A workshop for parents/carers of children and young people who live, or attend a school, in Berkshire and who have a dual diagnosis of Autism and ADHD.

Autism Workshop for Practitioners

For Practitioners who work with children or young people of any age who are pre- or post-assessment for Autism.
