Sheltered Housing Service - Reading Borough Council
What is Sheltered Housing
RBC Sheltered housing is independent living where you manage your property with its own front door, kitchen, bathroom & living space as well as maintaining a Reading Borough Council tenancy agreement. You get the reassurance from having access to our 24-hour emergency monitoring centre via the call system that is installed in each individual property. If required, you have use of our repairs service, which will be able to attend essential & non-essential repairs in your property. You have access to communal areas where regular onsite activities are held, giving you the opportunity to socialise with your neighbours as much or as little as you would like.
Who is Sheltered Housing for?
Reading Borough Council offers Sheltered Housing to people ages 55 and over.
Sheltered Housing support
We offer a level of support where our officers will have an initial conversation with you when you move in, regular monthly contact and an annual review as standard. If you require ongoing support to help maintain independence and sustain your tenancy agreement, our dedicated officers will be on hand to support you.
