Age UK Berkshire - Getting out & About

COVID-19 RESPONSE: Out & About and Social Prescribing

Last updated: 27/01/2022

Getting Out & About is a short-term service to help older people in Reading to discover new pastimes, rekindle old hobbies and find new friends in your local community.

Our service is for older people living in the Reading area. You may be feeling isolated or find it difficult to do the things that interest you. Perhaps you’ve lost the confidence or motivation to do the things you used to enjoy doing, or feel it is too late to go back or try something new. Getting Out and About in Reading

Having moved to a new area or after a bereavement, you may need some help to find things to do in your local community: it could be going to a lunch club, taking part in an activity or meeting up with like-minded people.

This is a short-term service to enable you to get back 'on your feet' or doing what you want to do in your community.
