SHARED LIVES SCHEME (Reading Borough Council)
Reading Shared Lives Scheme provides support to vulnerable young people and adults within an approved carers own family home. They may need support becaue they have a physical or learing disability, mental health needs or because they are older and have become frail. Carers include the person in thier day to day and special family activities to help them experience ordinary life and build safe and strong relationships. The support is flexible and the person is encouraged to live as independently as possible
If you are interested in becoming a Shared Lives Carer please contact the Council’s Shared Lives Team at Reading Borough Council for an informal chat. We will provide more information on the scheme and the opportunities available.
