Parenting Special Children - Kinship Carers Support Group
Kinship carers are family members or friends who end up looking after a child because their parents aren’t able to care for them due to any reason, for example bereavement, imprisonment, ill health, drug or alcohol misuse etc.
Please scroll to the bottom of the page for links to our latest events and to sign up to our mailing list.
The support group aims to:
- Provide a safe and supportive environment to share experiences and explore the unique challenges faced by Kinship Carers
- Establish support/social networks for Kinship Carers
- Learn from visiting guest speakers about relevant topics and matters of shared interest.
The support group runs alongside the Let’s Get Creative sessions for kinship children. Kinship carers are welcome to attend the sessions without a child attending Let’s Get Creative. Please book a carer ticket on the Let’s Get Creative event - https://www.parentingspecialchildren.co.uk/courses/lets-get-creative/
