BCP Council Short Breaks for Children and Young People with SEND

COVID-19 Update

Due to the Coronavirus the Short Breaks programme will be closed until further notice.  If you need any assistance please telephone: 01202 714700 where you can leave a message and a member of the team will call you back in due course, or alternatively email: shortbreaks@bcpcouncil.gov.uk

The BCP Council Short Breaks scheme is for families of children and young people, aged up to 18 years, with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.

Short Breaks are supervised activities that allow children and young people to take time out from their home and family. This allows them to try out new things, have fun and make new friends, while giving the family a break from caring duties.

Sessions are supported by experienced and friendly staff who ensure the children and young people are happy and safe, so that parents can take time out in confidence.

You can 'take a break' outside of your child or young person’s normal school hours. This could be in the evening, a weekend or overnight.

A range of breaks are available to suit children and young people with different needs, so there really is something for everyone.

A review of the BCP  Council Short Breaks offer is currently being undertaken and we will keep you updated.

Why come to Short Breaks?

We have different activities to choose from such as arts and crafts, activity days (on the beach in the summer!), swimming, archery, gym & trampolining, watersports etc.

You can have a say about the sort of activities you would like to do in the future.
