Books and DVDs to help 0-19s and their families
Is potty training driving you potty? Are you suffering with sleep issues or tired out with toddler tantrums? Do you need help handling bullies or tackling teenage troubles? Are you worried about the impact of a separation on your family?
Parenting is a tough job and we can all do with some extra ‘parenting powers’ from time to time. For help with many of these questions and much more, families can turn to a new scheme called, ‘Books & DVD’s to Help 0-19s and their Families’.
The scheme offers good quality self-help materials which are free to borrow in Libraries and Children’s Centres in Poole.
The books and DVDs have been selected and reviewed by professionals and families who rated them as being helpful and easy to use. If you want to borrow a book or DVD just go along to your local library or Children’s Centre.
If you wish to discuss the scheme further you can talk to a local professional who works with children and families, such as your Health Visitor, Children’s Centre worker, GP, Family Outreach worker, School Pastoral Care Worker to name a few.
These professionals will know all about the scheme and can help you by recommending suitable books or DVDs from the list.
In addition to this scheme, Poole Libraries now offer a great selection of Parenting E-books that are available to read online, just visit the parenting SOS shelf at Poole Libraries online catalogue.
