Community Transport Service

Make it easier for yourself

Centre 81's Community Transport Service is there to make life easier for you so that you can get out and about and continue to be part of your community.  This service is available for all who live within the Borough of Great Yarmouth and who are not able for whatever reason to access ordinary public transport.  Its main aim is to assist you to remain as independent as possible.

Whether you want to go shopping, visit family or friends, go to the doctors or the hospital, visit the library or a local museum or in the summer take advantage of the sunny weather and sit by the beach enjoying an ice cream, our service is there for you to use.  Some of our members use our transport service to participate in swimming, gym or other sports activities.

Throughout the year we run a wide range of trips to garden centres, shopping in Norwich, Lowestoft and Wroxham.  Coastal days out to Sherringham, Cromer and  Southwold.   We also arrange transport to the theatre subject to sufficient demand.  For your enjoyment we block book The Waveney Stardust and invite you to travel with us to Oulton Broad, Brundall or Stalham ready to embark on a cruise of the Norfolk Broads.

On Thursdays our Community Transport members book to go to the restaurant of the day including Acle Bridge, Furzedown Hotel, Lacon Arms, Reedham Ferry and Pier Hotel to name a few.  We book the tables, arrange transport to and from your home.  Like all our other journeys this really is a Door-to-Door service.

For those who become members of Centre 81’s Skills and Activities Service we provide transport to and from Centre 81’s base throughout the week.

Please contact us to discuss group bookings, we can work with your club or society so that your members can continue to enjoy their membership and support your club.

We run a fleet of ten fully accessible buses with tail lift and side steps to cater for your needs.

If you need someone to go with you in order to get out and about, your escort will be charged a half price fare.

To take advantage of our service all you need to do is to register as a member of the Door-to-Door service.  More about our service and membership forms can be found on our website  Type Centre 81 into Youtube to hear what our members think of Centre 81 and the services we provide.
