There are three levels of support available: low, medium and high. If you apply for support and are considered to be eligible, you will receive care at one of these levels. The system is flexible and it is expected that children will move between levels of support as their needs change over time.
Low Up to 100 hours a year of short breaks without further assessment. You can use a combination of Direct Payments and short break services.
Medium More than 100 hours a year of short breaks, worked out according to the child’s needs. You can use a combination of Direct Payments and short break services.
High A higher level of support for those families facing extra challenges, including the option of overnight stays and a comprehensive package of short breaks and Direct Payments.
Contact provider No allocation of hours required. Families contact the provider and if the child meets the criteria of the provider you will be offered a service.
