Luton Council of Mosques was set up in 2002 as a representative forum for mosques across the town. The Council aims to promote religious and racial harmony for the benefit of the public by:
- Educating the public about the Islamic faith and the Muslim community to promote good relations between persons of different faiths and of different racial groups.
- Providing a closer network and co-operation between the Mosques, service providers and faith communities.
- Building the capacity of mosques to deliver community services.
