Insights IASS

IASS stands for Information Advice and Support Service formerly known as the Parent Partnership Service.

It is a free,  independent, impartial and confidential service.  We provide information advice and support to parent/carers of children and young people with special needs or disabilities and young people with special needs or disabilites. 


Advisors are impartial and will not tell you what to do.  We will support you to make your own choices. 

Our service can:

  • Listen to your views
  • Explain how the system works
  • Explain what happens before the assessment process begins
  • Help parents understand the Education, Health and Social Care planning/assessment process for Special Educational Needs
  • Support parents to represent their views at meetings
  • Support parents through the annual review process
  • Provide advice and support through the Mediation and Tribunal Appeal process

Who is this service available to?

We provide information, advice and support to parent/carers of children and young people aged between 0-25 years  with special needs or disabilities and young people with special needs or disabilities, who are resident in Hammersmith & Fulham.

When is this service available?

Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5.00pm

How do you access this service?

Parents or young people can self refer or be referred by another service/professional with permission.

INSIGHTS IASS is quality assured by:

  • Termly Monitoring
  • Annual Reports
  • Parent/Carer service evalutions
  • Schools service evaluation
  • Steering Committee meetings with parents and professionals
What to do if you have a complaint?

Through the formal complaint process

Can parents and young people buy this service as part of their SEND personal budget?

This is a free service to all parent/carers and young people with SEN or disabilities.
