The Beanstalk Montessori Nursery School is situated on the borders of Hammersmith and Chiswick within the parish rooms of St Peter's Church, where we provide a warm and caring atmosphere for children aged 2-5.

We offer both morning and afternoon sessions, with children over the age of 3 able to bring a packed lunch and stay for a full day.

We are rated Outstanding by Ofsted (Oct 15).  We are an accredited Montessori School with highly qualified Montessori teachers, with years of teaching experience.  Children are allowed to develop at their own pace in a prepared environment.

We operate within three rooms and also have access to a large garden.  Our curriculum centres on the Montessori curriculum and we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

We offer the children a safe and happy environment with high quality resources.  We have Yoga, Music, Playball, Cooking and Language groups every week as well as a focus on the Montessori areas of learning, such as Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural, Maths, Language and a large Creative area including a woodwork bench.

At the Beanstalk we welcome children with Special Educational Needs as part of our community and we ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to engage in curriculum. Admission arrangements for children with SEN are the same as for all children. We comply with the statutory requirements laid out in the SEND Code of Practice 0-25 Children and Families Act 2014 and Equality Act 2010.

The Nursery has an appointed Senco with Cache level 3 in Working with Children and Young People with Special Needs and with many years experience. We follow the Graduated Response to ensure that children with possible SEN are identified and supported as soon as possible. The child's strengths and achievements form the base for the future SEN planning.
We work closely with parents and outside agencies to ensure that the child achieves his full potential through careful planning and implementing different strategies.

We meet with parents to discuss the plans and strategies and together work on strategies that can be used at home.

We run regular speech and language groups for children with communication difficulties.

We ensure that all teachers attend training on working with children with SEN arranged by the local authority and other professional bodies (e.g. all our teachers attended 2 day speech and language traning). The Senco regularly attends SEND Surgery that is offered by the local authorities.
