Swanscombe Children's Centre

Come visit us at Swanscombe Children's Centre! Lots of fun activities for you and your children to play, learn and have fun together!

Our Children's Centre is part of a nationwide programme of services for 0-5 year olds and their families. Our aim is to offer information, advice and support to parents, as well as integrated childcare and early learning, health services, family support and parental outreach.


Our sessions include:

  • Music Group: Monday 9:30am - 10:15am

  • Stay & Play: Tuesday 1:15pm - 2:45pm

  • Baby Group: Wednesday 1:30pm - 3:00pm


Midwife Clinic

Antenatal clinics provided by Community Midwifery Services. The Community Midwifery Office can be contact on 01322 428753 between 9:00am - 3:00pm.


Healthy Child Clinic (Drop-in)
Monday: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
(Please arrive before 2:45pm to avoid disappointment) 

Healthy Child Clinic offer you the opportunity to drop in and see your local health visiting team who will be able to offer you support and advice. They will also be able to weigh your baby or child. To speak to a Health Visitor, please call: 0300 123 6670


Breastfeeding Drop-in
Monday: 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Our breastfeeding drop-in groups are supportive, social and welcome all pregnant and breastfeeding women and their families. Our trained breastfeeding champions will be able to provide information and help if you have a breastfeeding concern or you can simply come along for some social support from other breastfeeding mums.


Development Checks

At the ages of around 1 year and 2 years parents will receive a letter inviting them to a development check with their health visitor. These clinics are run on an appointment basis only.


Healthy Start Vitamins

Children’s Centres are again able to distribute Healthy Start Vitamins.  Forms are available at reception which must then be signed by a health professional who sees the family regularly, such as the Health Visitor. Vitamins can then be dispensed by our centre Business Support Assistants on Reception.


Free Childcare

All 3 and 4 year olds and some 2 year old’s are entitled to a certain amount of free early education and childcare. To see if your child is eligible, please click here.
