Oakfield Children's Centre

Come visit us at Oakfield Children's Centre! Lots of fun activities for you and your children to play, learn and have fun together!



Our Children's Centre is part of a nationwide programme of services for 0-5 year olds and their families. Our aim is to offer information, advice and support to parents, as well as integrated childcare and early learning, health services, family support and parental outreach.

 

Our sessions include:

 

  • Stay & Play: Monday's 1:30pm - 3:00pm
  • Music Group: Tuesday's 1:45pm - 2:30pm
  • Baby Group: Wednesday's 9:30am - 10:30am

 

Midwife Clinic

 

Our Children's Centre has antenatal midwife clinics where parents to be are monitored throughout their pregnancy by our Community Midwives. These are run on an appointment only basis. Please contact your midwife for an appointment.

 

Well Baby Clinic (Drop-in)
Thursday: 9:30am - 11:30am

 

Our Children's Centre has regular Health Visitor Clinics where parents can attend to monitor their child's health. Children will be weighed and monitored and parents can ask advice on many subjects including sleep, feeding and weaning.

 

Development Checks

 

At the ages of around 1 year and 2 years parents will receive a letter inviting them to a development check with their health visitor. These clinics are run on an appointment basis only.

 

Health Trainer

 

Our NHS Health Trainers are here to offer support for healthy eating, exercise, quitting smoking, alcohol or drug issues, stress, emotional wellbeing and more.

 

Healthy Start Vitamins

 

Children’s Centres are again able to distribute Healthy Start Vitamins.  Forms are available at reception which must then be signed by a health professional who sees the family regularly, such as the Health Visitor. Vitamins can then be dispensed by our centre receptionists

 

Free For 2 (FF2)



You can apply for FF2 Funding here! Some 2-year-olds can get up to 15 hours of free childcare each week during school term time!
